Relay Details
The lengths of the 3 relay legs are as follows:-
Leg 1: 5km
Leg 2: 7km
Leg 3: 9km

There will be a bus to transport leg 2 and 3 runners to their changeover points. This will leave the Promenade at 9.45am sharp. Please be there on time.

The bus will drop off runners to the 1st and 2nd changeover points and will then remain parked at the 2nd changeover point. By using the walkers route, these two points are only 500 metres apart. Leg 1 runners are asked to make their way to the bus at the 2nd changeover point after they finish their run. When all the 2nd leg runners have finished, the bus will return to Enniscorthy.

You may leave a clothes bag on the bus.

Leg 1 runners also have the option of jogging back to the Promenade (about 1.5 miles) but please do not get in the way of runners/walkers on the course.

Toilets
There will be toilets available on the promenade close to the start/finish area in the car park of Slaney Fireplaces. There will also be a toilet at the two relay change over points.

Clothing Drop Off
As the car park is some 10 -15 minutes away from the start/finish we will be giving you a plastic bag when you pick up your race number and a sticky label with your race number written on it. Please put a change of clothes in it and bring it with you to the start/finish area where you can deposit it in the bag drop off marquee. There will be supervision in the area but please do not put valuables in the bag as we will not take responsibility for lost items.

Warm Up Area
Whereas the jog from the car park to the start may be a sufficient warm up for many of you, there is an excellent warm up area on a well surfaced walking track along the river just beyond the Riverside Park Hotel.

Start of Race and Walk
The race and the walk start at 10am on the Promenade close to the Riverside Park Hotel.

Walkers are asked to line up behind the runners.

Slower runners are asked to position themselves in such a way as to not block faster runners. Remember your time is being recorded, by the chip, from the extact point at which you cross the start line up until you reach the finish line.

The Race
Distances along the route will be marked in both miles and kilometres.

The first 2 km of the race are around the town. The route will be well stewarded and there will be a substantial Garda presence to ensure the safety of the athletes. Please obey the stewards directions at all times. You are asked not to wear ear phones. As the runners spread out please keep to the left hand side of the road.

Then it is out into the country. Please note that shortly after the 1st relay change over/1st water station, at approx 5.5 km, the runners will be turning right but the walkers go straight on. There will be stewards there to direct you.

Shortly after 15km (approx 9km for walkers) the route crosses the railway line. There will be a train coming through at 12.30pm but we expect everyone to be through this point by then. If by any chance the gate is down when you get there please wait for the train to pass!

Water Stations: There will be 4 water stations on the half marathon course and three on the 15K walk.

Station 1: 5km. There is also a relay change over here.
Station 2: 11km. This is on the half marathon course only
Station 3 16km. (This will be 10Km on the walk route)
Station 4 19km (13km on the walk)

The water will be in 250ml bottles. There will be a bin positioned 200metres beyond each water station. If it suits we would ask you to deposit your bottle in the bin.

The Finish
As you approach the finish you can check the clock finish time on the gantry clock. Your chip time will be recorded as you run over the finish mat.

When you have drawn breath please continue to move through the finishers enclosure to receive a bottle of water and a banana. You may then pick up your goody bag. These will be on different tables. Each table will have bags containing T shirts of a specific size. Please make sure you take the right size.

Vouchers: There will be a number of vouchers included in the goody bag. One of these is a voucher for tea and sandwiches in the Riverside Park Hotel. Please do not lose it. You must present this in the hotel to get refreshments.

If you fancy some strawberries and cream later there will be a money off voucher which you can use up the town in Market Square at Wheelock’s stall.

When you have collected your goody bag your chip will be removed from your shoe and you will leave the finish enclosure. Please note that you will not be allowed back into this area once you have left.

Just outside the finish area you can collect your clothes bag in the marquee where you left it earlier. There will be two marquees for changing, one ladies and one mens.

The Leisure Centre in the Riverside Park Hotel is offering a special one day membership for those who would like a shower/swim after the race. For further details phone Ken at 0539239990.

You can then proceed to the hotel function room for refreshments (don’t forget your voucher)

If you have friends and supporters with you they can purchase tea and sandwiches in the same venue for €5

Prize Giving
Prize giving is scheduled for 1.30pm. Prizes will be presented as per the prize list on the website. The 1st Lady and the 1st Man will also be presented with a special silver pin by the Chairman of Enniscorthy Town Council.
